VISITSCOTLAND
has launched a £100,000 advertising campaign to lure European visitors back to
Scotland following the US terrorist attacks.
The
campaign, including promotions with Ryanair and bmi british midland, is
expected to reach one million Belgian, German and French households.
Chief
executive Philip Riddle said: “Scotland has never been closer to the heart
of Europe with visitors able to choose from a variety of air services from
Brussels.”
VisitScotland’s
Ryanair campaign includes newspaper advertisements throughout October with an
airfare of £15 return from Glasgow Prestwick to Brussels.
The
bmi campaign will focus on a return flight and accommodation deal to Edinburgh
and Glasgow featuring three and four star hotels. It will run until March next
year.
In
addition, VisitScotland is promoting the new Superfast Ferry service, due to be
launched next May between Zeebrugge and Rosyth, this week’s Scotland Week in
Brussels.
Riddle
added: “We were delighted to use Scotland Week as a springboard to
relaunch our marketing efforts in Europe.”
