* agent guide free with travel weekly
Look out for your copy of the British Travel Agents’ Guide to Canada, which will be distributed free with the November 19 issue of Travel Weekly. The new directory will serve as a comprehensive reference guide to all of Canada’s provinces, territories and destination marketing organisations.
* Rocky mountaineer railtours ski trips
Skiers can arrive at their resort in style this winter with Rocky Mountaineer Railtours’ new winter ski tours. The two-day rail itineraries can now be combined with three days’ skiing at a choice of three resorts: Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village or Lake Louise. The lead-in price is £518 including five nights’ accommodation, a two-day Rocky Mountaineer tour, a three-day ski pass, transfers and some meals.
* Carrier makes canada market debut
Tailor-made specialist Carrier has added Canada to its programme for the first time. Managing director Ian Pollitt said it was a natural progression following the success of last year’s North America programme. The operator is focusing on high-quality ‘luxury hideaways’, including the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff National Park, which leads in at £595 per person for three nights’ room-only, including scheduled flights. The summer 2002 brochure is divided into sections on skiing, city breaks, flydrives, train journeys and tours.
