ITM calls on Government for financial aid
THE Institute of Travel Management has called on the Government to provide immediate aid to industries most exposed to the fallout from September 11.
The body, representing business travel purchasers and managers, has written to the Secretary of State for Transport Stephen Byers to plead for monetary support to safeguard the future of business travel, airlines, airports and hotels. ITM member and former president Ian Hall has suggested ways the Government could help.
“The US government has given money to its airlines, it would be unfair if the UK or Europe didn’t respond in a similar fashion,” he said.
