CLUB Travel 2000 is undertaking a major promotional drive north of the border in preparation for the launch of a dedicated brochure for Scottish agents.
The operator is currently finalising details of exclusive flights from Glasgow to two new destinations which will feature in the programme.
Sales and marketing director Ian Scott, who is heading the sales push in Scotland, said an additional 20,000 passengers are being planned from Glasgow. He declined to reveal its current capacity or the new destinations.
Growth from Newcastle Airport is also being targeted.
The move follows a management reshuffle which has seen Scott relocate from the operator’s Manchester headquarters to Scotland and sales manager Karen Swann promoted to the newly created position of head of sales.
She will report directly to the Club Travel 2000 board and take responsibility for all sales south of the border, with the exception of Newcastle.
Scott said: “It’s perfect for me as I have a house in Scotland and have been commuting from there for the past three years.
“I now want to get out there and increase our brand awareness. We comfortably sell our existing capacity in Scotland and believe we can exploit the market further.
“We already have an insert in our brochure for Scottish departures but with new destinations coming on board we feel a dedicated brochure is needed.
“The aim is to make life as easy as possible for agents.”
Along with the new destinations – which are believed to be mass market – existing routes will also be expanded.
Capacity from Newcastle will also be increased with more seats on services to Tenerife and Malaga.
