HOTELS
in the UK are suffering their worst downturn in business since 1977, according
to consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
London
properties have been worst hit, with revenue per room expected to fall by
15%-18% compared with 2000. It is the capital’s biggest slump since the 1991
Gulf War, when revenue fell 12.3%.
Across the UK, revenue per room is likely to fall
12%-13 in 2001.
