BRITISH Airways traffic dropped 2.5% last month compared to
February 2001.
The reduction compromised a 7.8% decline in premium traffic
and 1.4% fall in non-premium traffic.
Costs are expected to fall because of measures put in place
following the September 11 terrorist attacks and the Future Size and Shape Review.
The airline predicts fuel costs will be 6% lower than last
year because of the reduced flying programme and the use of more efficient
aircraft.
Additionally, staff numbers have been reduced by 6,400 since
August 2001.
