EASYJET is preparing to buy low-cost rival Go.
The Luton-based carrier made the announcement following the
leak of discussions with Go owners 3i Group.
EasyJet said talks were at an advanced stage, but it would
only proceed with the plans if it was in the interests of shareholders, staff
and customers.
The plan is part of a European expansion strategy to
increase short-haul routes and airport slots. Go is a dominant force at
Stansted, which EasyJet does not serve.
