TUI’s new low-cost airline Hapag-Lloyd Express will launch a
thrice-daily service between Luton and Cologne/Bonn from December 3.
Fares booked through the hlx.com website will start from £12.50,
including taxes and charges, although tickets booked through its call centre
will be £5 dearer.
The airline will fly to four other destinations from
Germany, including Milan-Bergamo, Venice, Naples and Pisa-Florence.
It will start with four Boeing 737-700s and expects to carry
1.3 million passengers in its first year. Its fleet will rise to 12 aircraft by
the end of 2003.
