COSMOS
has launched its accommodation-only website in time to cash in on the peak
sales period.
The
bookable site, www.somewhere2stay.com, has gone live with one million bed
nights at 400 three to five-star properties in 30 destinations. The product is
primarily beach resort properties only currently available in a package but the
range will “increase by the day” with cities added at a later date.
Overseas
purchasing director Hugh Morgan said: “Many of the hotels are exclusive to us
in the UK market and at the moment can only be booked as part of a package.”
Morgan
revealed negotiations had begun with hotel chains interested in bolting on
their sites, while Cosmos also plans to approach no-frills airlines such as
EasyJet to discuss on-line links.
Meanwhile,
a flight-only site, www.somewhere2fly.com, is due to come on-line later this
year, with links to sister companies Avro and Monarch, as well as non-group
product.
