Flight Centre buys Britannic Travel

FLIGHT
Centre has bought Britannic Travel for £45.3 million.

Managing
director Graham Turner said: “We already have an expanding business travel
operation focusing on small to medium sized companies in the UK, but it would
have taken years of organic growth and major financial investment to achieve
Britannic’s results, size and market penetration.”

Britannic
has 24 offices in 40 locations. The business employs 400 staff and provides
travel services to medium and large corporate accounts.

Flight
Centre also announced plans to raise up to $79.6 million for future growth.
