OPERATORS are looking to shake up the way independent
agents are paid by forcing consortia bosses to accept tiered commission.
Retailers failing to hit targets will be made to
accept poorer terms in a move that harks back to the controversial Thomson Holidays
Preferred Agents scheme.
MyTravel is leading the drive to reduce payments to
agents. Thomson, Cosmos, First Choice and Libra Holidays are also looking at
the issue.
