TRAVEL agents were still without insurance coverage
for Air Canada sales last week – seven days after the airline applied for
creditor protection.
At the time of going to press, the carrier was still
scrambling to get itself covered as a number of agents took it off sale.
Air Canada insisted bookings were at normal levels,
but one leading insurance provider said agents should be wary until they are
properly covered.
Geoff Klipp, managing
director of London-based Marcus Hearn, said: “Agents have to make sure they are
protected even if the airline gives them a guarantee.”
