MYTRAVEL has confirmed it is suing the European Commission
for £518 million.
Group chief executive Peter McHugh announced last year of
his intention to sue the EC after the European Court of Justice ruled that the Commission
acted unlawfully in blocking the attempted takeover by MyTravel, then Airtours,
of First Choice Holidays in 1999.
A MyTravel spokeswoman confirmed the lawsuit was going
ahead.
