FREEDOM
Travel Group has obtained its own ATOL so members do not have to fork out for
their own mini licences under new regulation.
The
news comes a week before the deadline is up for mini-ATOL applications – at a
cost of £1,500 per agency – to the Civil Aviation Authority.
The
United Co-op backed group said the decision followed demand from customers for
agents to package up holidays themselves.
General
manager Trevor Davis said: “Those members who want to package up flights
and accommodation themselves can do so under the Freedom ATOL, instead of applying
for a mini-ATOL themselves. The market is changing and if you do not get one
you will be left behind.”
