Travel supremos feature in Rich List

SIR
Richard Branson, Stelios Haji-Ioannou and former MyTravel boss David Crossland
are amongst the 300 richest people in the UK, a newspaper survey has revealed.

According
to the Mail on Sunday’s 2004 Rich Report, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays
founder Sir Richard is worth £2.7 billion, putting him at number nine in the
list.

EasyJet
founder Stelios weighed in at a respectable 118th with a net worth of £340
million. His wealth fell by £50 million last year after various business
ventures failed to take off, but he will be hoping to recoup that figure with
the launch of his cruising venture.

Despite
MyTravel’s recent troubles, Crossland still has a net worth of £190 million, £5
million more than last year. His fortune put the operator’s founder at number
215 in the list.

The
Saga De Haan brothers will be propelled to 30th in the list when the sale of
their travel and insurance empire is completed later this year.

The
trade also fared well in the Sunday Times’ Best Companies To Work For list.
Four companies were featured, with Flight Centre scoring the highest position
in fourth place.

The Walt Disney Company, Air Miles Travel Company and
Travel Inn also featured in the 100-strong list.
