Thomsonfly picks Doncaster as second base

THOMSONFLY, TUI UK’s no-frills
carrier, has announced its second base will be Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield
Airport.

The airline will base four aircraft
at the airport, formerly Doncaster Finningley Airport, and expects to carry
more than one million passengers a year.

The routes have yet to be finalised
but will be to sunshine destinations and cities to serve both leisure and
business markets.

Flights will be available for under
£20 and will be on sale before Christmas 2004.

The launch of Thomsonfly’s first
flights from Coventry Airport in March this year were overshadowed by a
planning permission row with Warwick District Council, which is ongoing.

TUI said
the decision to use Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield also means packages and
charter flights with Thomson Holidays will be available from the airport for
summer 2005.
