Bedrooms to die for

For the ultimate in barefoot luxury, it’s hard to beat the Ocean Suites at Carlisle Bay in Antigua. Right on the beach-front, the suites are 800sq foot, split level and open plan. The ultimate in contemporary elegance – complete with in-room features such as the Gaggia espresso machine and Frette bed linen.
Guests staying at the luxurious Cotton House resort on Mustique, can choose their own pillow type – either goosedown or feather. The piece de résistance are the rooms and suites in the Coutinot House, including a stunning room in the historic tower with its own circular staircase entrance, four-poster bed, panoramic views and ample privacy.
Among the 10 rooms at Rawlin’s Plantation on the mountain slopes of Mount Liamuiga in St Kitts, is a converted windmill. Completely round, this novel room is beautifully decorated and very cosy. It’s used as the honeymoon suite.
The Luxury Plantation Suites at the Coral Reef Club in Barbados are frankly, huge. They have a separate living room and private plunge pool, four-poster or canopied bed, large covered terrace and open sun deck area.
The Royal Suites at Spice Island in Grenada are more like a private villa. Each has its own tropical garden, with private pool, sauna and sun terrace. Inside, guests have an enormous marble bathroom, king-size bed and small lounge.
The six one-bedroom beach houses at Parrot Cay on Turks and Caicos are just 100 feet from the water’s edge offering uninterrupted views of the ocean. Each has its own private heated plunge pool, an outside shower, decking and hammock.
