Keycamp sheds 90 jobs

A TOTAL of 90 Keycamp staff are to be made redundant
following Holidaybreak’s decision to shut its Surrey office to save
£1 million a year.

The announcement comes as the camping operator announces sales
this year are currently 5% down on 2003.

Keycamp will be relocated to the head offices of parent company
Holidaybreak in Northwich, Cheshire, where 40 jobs will be created
instead.

Camping division managing director Matthew Cheetham said the
decision was “purely financial” and that staff would be offered
relocation packages or help in finding new jobs.

Call centre, sales and marketing, finance, IT and customer
relations staff are based at Keycamp’s offices in Sutton. The sales
team, headed by Sarah Williams, is unaffected.

The move is likely to be completed by November this year, with
the Sutton offices to be sold for an expected sum of £1
million.
