Bristol gets Continental

CONTINENTAL Airlines has today announced it is to launch
daily non-stop flights between Bristol and New York.

The service, which starts from May 20 next year, is the first
scheduled non-stop transatlantic flight from the south west of
England.

Bristol international Airport managing director Andrew Skipp
described the deal as “a momentous occasion” for the region.

“I am confident the demand from business, alongside inbound and
outbound tourists, will make this service a success,” he said.

The flight will depart Bristol International Airport at 9am
arriving in New York at 12pm.

The return flight leaves New York at 7.30pm and arrives at
Bristol at 7.30am the next day.

Bristol International Airport has a catchment area of 7.5
million people.

The airport claims to be one of the fasting growing in the UK
and will carry 4.5 million passengers in 2005.

Prices start from £165 return plus taxes, from Bristol to
