TRAVEL Counsellors hopes to increase flight-only sales
by up to 75% with the introduction of the first part of its dynamic
packaging technology.
The homeworking agency believes the introduction of
Comtec’s Flight Booking Engine will increase flight-only
sales from £20 million for the year to October 2004 to up to
£35 million for the 12 months to October 2005.
The technology allows for one search across scheduled, no-frills
and charter carriers.
Travel Counsellors sales director Malcolm Hingley said the
system – which will be integrated into the agency’s
intranet – will reduce the time it takes for its 450 agents
to search for flights from “between 30-45 minutes to two
minutes”.
