Thomson Cruises is confident its ship Celebration will be
repaired in time for its next cruise on Sunday after being forced
to ditch its first 14-night cruise due to plumbing problems.
The ship is currently in Southampton and a spokeswoman for Thomson
said engineers and consultants were on board and had been given a
clear brief to get the problem sorted before the next passengers
come on board.
Celebration underwent emergency repairs in Bilboa last week, after
problems with 250 toilets out of its 600 cabins. All but 500 of the
1,180 passengers on board were flown home to Gatwick and
Bournemouth over the weekend. All passengers have been given their
money back and offered 25 % off a future Thomson cruise.
Celebration is due to embark on a four-day cruise on Sunday calling
at the Isles of Scilly and Guernsey.
