Former Centrica boss Mark Tanzer has been appointed
ABTA’s new chief executive.
Newman Street has been recruiting for a new head for months,
following the resignation of Ian Reynolds who will leave in
September.
Tanzer said: “Change is an important part of any organisation’s
development and an effective trade organisation must anticipate the
future of the industry and the needs of its members.”
Tanzer previously held the post of senior director for change
and reform at the Immigration and Nationality Directorate and
director of corporate development at Centrica. He was also formerly
development director at the AA.
He is a Cambridge University scholar, has completed an MBA at
Harvard University and speaks French, Italian and Spanish.
