Morgan takes command of Thomson task

TRAVEL House managing director Martin Morgan has been handed responsibility for developing Thomsons’ retail network alongside Lunn Poly.

The role, which follows the departure of Thomson UK retail development director Nigel Cleevely, includes heading Callers-Pegasus and Sibbald Travel as well as nationally expanding Swansea-based Travel House.

The three chains have a combined total of 107 shops.

Morgan’s first task will be to examine the strengths of both Callers and Sibbald.

Sibbald has widespread recognition in Edinburgh, but is not seen as strong enough to develop throughout Scotland.

Callers is only well known in the northeast of England.

Sources said both brands are likely to be retained but become known as Callers Travel House and Sibbald Travel House.
