THOMSON has reinstated in part its afternoon tea breaks at its Glasgow call centre following staff unrest
At last week’s group staff grievance procedure Thomson agreed to reintroduce the paid 15-minute afternoon break in the quieter months of April, May, June, October, November and December. Thomson scrapped the break for the 400 workers in July to bring working practices in line with other centres (Travel Weekly July 22).
Travel trade union the Transport Salaried Staff’s Association negotiations officer Jerry Wines described the ruling as a “50% victory”.
Staff are expected to appeal to get the break all year round.
