Something to celebrate all year round

Since we’ve discussed everything from surfing to skiing, you’ll probably have gathered that Pennsylvania isn’t a one-season kind of destination. In fact, in the Keystone State there’s no time of year that doesn’t have something to offer – and nobody knows this better than Pennsylvanians. Whatever your interests, and whatever the season, in Pennsylvania you’ll never be far from an annual event that will capture your imagination.

In this module we’ll take a look at some of the events on offer. If you’re here in Winter, don’t think about leaving until you’ve attended a ‘festival of trees’ – a Christmas fair that takes place among hundreds of community-decorated trees. Or in the height of Summer, try following your nose to the great rib cook-off at Library…but leave room for the marvellously indulgent Chocolate Walk in Lititz (every October).

Alternatively, travel over to PA Dutch Country for the July re-enactment of the Battle of Gettysburg, to Warrington for the Algonquin Indie film festival in May, or to Philadelphia for September’s legendary film festival.
