NEW on-line travel agency biztravel.com has signed up 3,000 members to its business information site and travel club in its first three months of operation.
Called biztravelclub.com, it is aimed at corporate travellers who want to make new contacts, find buyers or suppliers, or meet with other members sharing common interests. The club has attracted a wide range of members including doctors, designers, sales consultants, managers and journalists. Other benefits of the travel club include an exclusive members’ club lounge which carries business travel news, celebrity travellers’ tips, automatic connection to a local Internet service provider, access to free subway maps, language courses, a world clock, world weather reports and direct links to global tourist boards’ Internetsites, including key local dates and information.
When travelling, members post their trip itinerary and any message on the club board. Users can then gain access to the contact details of other members who are in their area during that time and can set up meetings.
The cost of joining the club is £50 a year, but the next 7,000 visitors to register on the site receive two years’ free membership. The site can be found at: www.biztravelclub.com.
