AIR New Zealand will double its capacity on London flights later this year with the launch of a second daily Boeing 747 service via Hong Kong.
The airline carries 28% of the UK tourists visiting New Zealand every year but plans to increase its share of the market to 37%. Air New Zealand chief executive Rob Fyffe said demand had often exceeded available seats on UK flights, in part because of the high population of New Zealanders living there.
“The focus will be on growing the leisure market demand for travel to New Zealand – a market we previously couldn’t target simply because we were capacity constrained,” Fyffe said.
