THE ACTING chief executive of the English Tourism Council, Elaine Noble, has withdrawn her application to take over the job permanently.
Noble, who is understood to have been the front runner, has pulled out for family reasons. She will carry on as acting chief executive until a replacement starts work and then leave the ETC. Before the departure of former chief executive Tim Bartlett last April, she held the post of operations director.
The ETC has now extended the application period in order to attract more candidates. Interviews will be held in December.
