First Choice offers ‘Peace of Miind’ – 27 Oct 2006

First Choice Travel Shops and Holiday Hypermarkets will be offering customers a new health and wellbeing service for people travelling overseas from the beginning of November.

The “Peace of Mind” service includes Allergyware, a text messaging service that enables holidaymakers to receive a translated message about their allergies that they can show to waiters and hotel and supermarket staff.

In addition HealthHelplines offers 24-hour access to english speaking medical professionals both before and during the customers’ travels. The professionals will give details of foreign medication like product names, details of local doctors and clinics as well as minor illness assistance.

The service costs £14.95 for 2 adults for all services and the rest of the family for the ‘Health’ areas covering a 12-month period, however, First Choice is offering an additional month if a customer registers for the product online.

‘Peace of Mind’ will not replace but complement a customer’s insurance policy with assistance if they encounter problems relating to their home, health or possessions when away from home.

The product also offers further services including:

• VaccinationCare – 15% off vaccination bills at Medicentre;

• KeyholderSupport – offers assistance to neighbours or family if there is a home emergency by arranging quality-checked tradesmen to assess and resolve the issue. They will also advise the Home Insurance Company of a possible claim;

• LuggageGuard – for protection of luggage. When the product is purchased, the customer receives a uniquely coded tag – simply register the code online and if the luggage is lost, it will be found swiftly;

• PassportGuard –  when purchased a coded label to stick onto a passport and anyone who finds the lost passport, can call a number and a call/email will be automatically diverted to the customer so they can be reunited with their passport.

First Choice Retail commercial manager Mark Mitchell, said: “We all know that going away on holiday or business can be sometimes stressful; especially if you cannot speak the language of the country and have an allergy; become ill or lose your passport – the worries can be endless.

“We believe that ‘Peace of Mind’ is a wonderful product for both families and business people and it can be used as many times as they wish.”
