A training conference is being held to tackle tourism skills needed in time for the 2012 London Olympics.
The Hosting the World: Achieving world-beating customer service 2012 conference is being organised by Tourism South East and will be held on November 30 in Milton Keynes.
Speakers lined up so far include Tourism British Columbia training services manager Jenni Hokyns who will outline Canada’s preparations for the forthcoming 2010 Winter Olympics while VisitBritain quality manager Jeremy Brinkworth will give an overview of the issues affecting the UK.
The conference will also include workshops and debate about how what is required from the training and tourism sectors in order to make the games a success.
Tourism South East’s Head of Skills and Training Sue Gill said: “The London 2012 Games offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to really raise the game in delivering exceptional customer service.
“Tourism businesses will be at the forefront in welcoming as many as one million extra visitors to the country, not just in London but across the South East and further afield.”
