Travelzest acquires Wow House – 22 Dec 2006

Travelzest has acquired specialist domestic accommodation provider Wow House Limited for an initial payment of £95,000.

Wow House is an online direct-sell company, which trades under the name The Wow House Company and organises predominantly short breaks in upmarket country houses as well as planning events. It has around 25 properties on its books.

Following yesterday’s acquisition, Travelzest group chief executive Chris Mottershead said Wow House managing director Nick House, who founded the business last year, would remain with in his position and receive further payment for the company in shares, depending on its performance going forward.

Mottershead added: “This company provides an excellent opportunity and adds to our growing portfolio of specialist tour operators.

“It also demonstrates our ability to identify early-stage businesses with experienced management and the potential to capture a greater share of their niche markets.”

Travelzest, founded in 2005, already owns Tapestry Holidays, itravel2000.com, Holiday Express, Faraway Holidays, Peng Travel, Fair’s Fare, VFB Holidays and Best of Morocco.

Tapestry is due to be relaunched shortly with a “revitalised” Tapestry Collection brand representing its best product, initially showcasing its best of Turkey and Crete ranges and some new properties.
