Former Cosmos Tourama sales director Peter Traynor has been appointed commercial director of trade-only car rental broker Autobookers.
Traynor, who worked for Cosmos for around 20 years and has spent the last 18 months consulting for companies such as Saga, Beachcomber Tours, Rock Insurance and latterly Autobookers, will head up commercial and sales activities for the business to business broker as it targets subtantial growth this year.
“We have strong growth ambitions and plan for this growth to be in the double figures,” he said. “It’s about making people aware of what we offer.”
The company, which has a website www.autobookersonline.co.uk, does not sell direct to consumers and allows agents and operators to white-label its product on their website, only showing the car rental companies it offers rather than its own brand.
It should appeal to companies which want to promote their own brand, Traynor added.
“This is a nice challenge and I have been in tour operating for a long time and wanted to do something different but still use my experience and knowledge.”
