Explore launches expanded special interest brochure – 18 Jan 2007

Adventure specialist Explore has launched its new Special Interest 2007/08 brochure having more than doubled the number of tours it offers.

Explore Middle East product manager Carl Welsby said the four new tours are Classic Campania, Ancient Sicily, Ancient Tunisia and Tripolitania and the Mysteries of the Maya.

They differ from Explore’s normal tours as they have been designed to give customers a greater insight into the areas they visit.

He added: “People know Explore for its worldwide products and many of those people who have travelled with us will have developed an interest in a specific area and will want to revisit it.

“We won’t just take the customer there and spend every evening eating in the hotels. Every night we’ll go out and eat in local restaurants, visit local villages and if there’s a fiesta going on in a nearby town, we can visit that too.”

Welsby said to further increase the value of the tours, professional guides will accompany each of them and give nightly talks and slide shows on the sites visited.

“The market is expanding well and we are seeing increased interest. People are watching their children and grandchildren go away on gap years and hearing about what they have done and they are beginning to want that too.”

Prices lead in at £965 for the eight-day Classic Campania tour in the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi coast and includes flights, transfers, all entry fees and bed-and-breakfast accommodation.
