Thomson adds ‘personalisation’ features to website – 8 Feb 2007

Thomson is to introduce ‘intelligent personalisation’ to its website to improve the holiday search process.

Customers will be able to set the home page to their favoured departure airport, while holidays will be categorised so the customer only searches for the type of holiday they are really interested in.

Holiday categories will include luxury, villas, sports, family and couples.

TUI northern Europe new media director Graham Donoghue said the system, which will be launched in the next four weeks, will help to improve the holiday search process by speeding it up and filtering out holidays that are not what the customer is looking for.

“If I want to fly from Manchester and go on luxury holidays, I’m not interested in other types of holiday or flying from other airports. It’s intelligent personalisation,” Donoghue said.
