Britaly Travel hopes travel agents will support Italy tour business – 15 Feb 2007

Britaly Travel is looking to forge closer links with other travel agents to support Typically Italian, the specialist tour operation it launched last year.

Britaly Travel partner Daniele Broccoli said, given the lack of independently-owned Italian specialists and its offer of 10% commissions and no directly bookable websites, he is confident the trade will get behind the venture.

He said: “With TUI rebranding Magic of Italy, Thomson and First Choice-owned Citalia also cutting commission, there’s a real opportunity to win the backing of independent agents.”

Broccoli added while 10% of the operator’s breaks sold are package holidays, the rest are tailor-made and covered by the operator’s ATOL bond.

Prices lead in at just £16 per person per night for a week’s accommodation in self-catering apartments in Tuscany.
