Leger Holidays is launching its first Single Travellers brochure after seeing a 144% increase in bookings in the sector through travel agents last year.
Retail sales director Peter Raynor said the trend was most exaggerated through the trade – the overall number of single traveller Leger Holidays bookings throughout 2006 grew by 88%.
Now, with the addition of seven tours through destinations across Europe as well as increased availability on existing holidays, the operator is launching the European experience Single Travellers brochure.
Raynor said: “Sales for our Single Traveller option have spiralled in line with the changes in relationships and living arrangements in the UK. Consequently, we are expanding our product range and investing in this area.”
He added many of the new tours are coach trips giving singles the opportunity to meet fellow singles, while events such as drinks parties and special dinners are also included to break down the barriers.
Prices are free of a single supplement and lead in at £449 for the Romantic Paris five-day coach tour, including accommodation.
