Travel companies make top 100 – 5 Mar 2007

Three travel companies have made it into this year’s 100 Best Small Companies to Work For.

Online luxury travel agency Destinology is the top travel company, ranked 14th in the list, while operator Audley Travel has come in 28th, up five places on last year. Wholesale trade-only company Albatross Travel Group has just crept into the list at 99th.

The list is compiled by The Sunday Times and takes into account the views of employees and policies of employers.

Performance is measured in eight key indicators of workplace contentment covering leadership, management, immediate colleagues, pay and benefits, well-being, the firm’s willingness to reward staff, people’s personal development and employees’ overall sense of affilliation with their employers.

Destinology managing director Dominic Speakman said: “We’ve put together a way of working where all our staff are self-motivated and we make sure we take on the right people so the culture is right. It’s all about getting a positive environment.”
