Trade to benefit from Brazilian ad campaign – 20 March 2007

The Brazilian Tourist office has launched its UK marketing campaign and is directing customers to travel agents.

The £620,000 advertising campaign will run until May and posters and adverts will feature across London as well as in national newspapers.

Brazilian tourist office director for UK and Ireland Chris Fuzinatto said agents and operators should be able to benefit because it will highlight the importance of the trade.

He said: “Travel agents and operators should benefit from the campaign. Every time someone sees an advert it will tell them to call their travel agent.

“We have never been involved with the travel trade like this before. It really is about increasing sales through the agent – they are the most important route to market for us.”

The tourist office is also launching its own online training programme so agents can become Brazil specialists. The programme will launch in September but agents can register from July.

Agents can register their details or request for material at ebt.uk@embratur.gov.uk.
