Thomas Cook promotes flexible holiday options – 20 Apr 2007

Thomas Cook has launched its first-edition brochures for summer 2008 with a greater emphasis on city breaks, flexible durations and twin-centre holidays.

The programme has changed little from last year but director of product Robbie Orr said the adjustments that have been made were to meet increasing customer demand for more flexible holidays.

He said: “We have focused on further improving our destination offering, by providing more flexible durations, more twin centres and ‘Discover More’ options to help customers get more out of their travels.

“We plan to have further additions and new offerings in time for the second-edition brochures that are due out in July. These new brochures continue what we started last year in terms of combining Thomas Cook charter flying with scheduled airline options in our brochures.”

Thomas Cook Summersun is offering an expanded range of 10 and 11-night holidays while the Discover More programme, which enables customers to include a city break as part of their holiday, has been expanded to include Jordan, Cairo, Marrakesh, Dubrovnik, Barcelona and Gibraltar.

Orr said: “In addition, we have our agent services team in place to support travel agents who want more detail on the programmes or whose customers have special requirements.”

Of the small number of additions made for 2008, Orr said a number of new excursions have been introduced in Australia while couples marrying in Cyprus can hire an exclusive yacht.

New hotels are alsobeing featured in the Far East, Cuba, Antigua, Grenada, Mexico, Goa, Thailand and the Maldives.
