Scotia’s QE2 sales hit 30%

SCOTIA Golf 2000, which has chartered QE2 during the Open Golf Championship in Scotland next July, has sold 30% of the ship’s capacity.

Operations manager Bill Tinto said most availability was in the mid-priced cabins on the 1,600 passenger ship.

Scotia has chartered QE2 for a seven-night cruise out of Southampton departing on July 18. The ship will spend four nights moored at Anstruther, which is nine miles from St Andrew’s, the site of next year’s Open golf tournament.

Prices range from £1,799 to £4,999 and include Open tickets. Agents selling the cruise will make a 10% starting commission.
