THE Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau has joined forces with city tourism offices across Texas to put together a series of pre and post-conference educationals for Pow Wow delegates.
Pow Wow takes place next year between May 13 and 17 2000 at the Dallas Convention Centre but the Dallas CVB is hoping delegates will take up the opportunity to stay longer and explore the state.
A total of 14 two- to four-day educationals have been created, each themed to highlight a different aspect of Texas, its cities, its history and its western tradition.
Delegates can apply for a trip when they register for the conference.
CVB president Dave Whitney said while the educationals will promote the whole state, there will be particular emphasis on Dallas as the host city.
“Dallas is an established convention centre but we have not taken time to promote it as a leisure destination and yet it is one of the easiest places to get to from the UK with four non-stop flights daily.
“We are the third-busiest airport in the world and have more non-stop flights to cities in the US than any other airport,” said Whitney.
