Harvey World Travel managing director John Donnelly has stood down after completing a fixed term contract agreed in October 2004.
The travel agency’s parent company Stella Travel Services said Donnelly’s departure was by “mutual consent”. The existing management team will continue to run the business, the company said.
Stella Travel Services UK managing director Andrew Laurie said: “John has developed the team and led the acquisition of the Let’s Go and Galaxy Travel chains, entered a branding partnership with Virgin Holidays and created a strong network of managed and franchised HWT agencies, along with a considerable affinity travel business.”
Donnelly said: “I am extremely proud of what we have achieved in a relatively short time and I am sure the existing management team will continue to develop the business.”
Donnelly joined HWT in October 2004 following the acquisition of his own Travel Factory business. He was given a 12.5% stake in the company and at the time pledged to build a 400-strong network within three years.
