Co-operative Travel Management has acquired independent St Annes Travel Agents, which trades as Business Travel Plus.
The acquisition of the Blackpool-based company for an undisclosed sum will bring Co-operative Travel Management’s total number of branches to 12 and increase its annual sales to more than £70 million.
Co-operative Travel Management’s general manager Anthony Rissbrook said: “Business Travel Plus is an excellent fit with our business. It boasts a track record of strong sales growth and sustainable profitability. Business Travel Plus has also developed an impressive corporate customer base.”
Business Travel Plus managing director Tony Stone will work as a consultant until the end of the year. All 21 staff will remain with the company.
Co-operative Travel Management is part of The Co-operative Travel, which was formed this week as a result of the merger between The Co-operative Group and United Co-operatives.
