Co-operative Travel Group managing director Mike Greenacre is confident its newly appointed senior executives can strengthen the £1 billion travel retailing business’s position.
He said: “The new team has a proven track record in delivering commercial success. With the strength of the Co-operative brand behind us, we will begin building on our already strong position as the UK’s leading independent travel retailer.”
The new appointments have seen Trevor Davis assume responsibility for the group’s 425 high street shops as head of retail distribution, while Alistair Rowland will be responsible for the group’s 600 homeworkers working for Future Travel.
Rowland will also assume responsibility for Freedom Travel and business travel operation Co-operative Travel Management as well as all retail and call centres and web fulfilment.
Ruth Evans is head of marketing, Mike Yates is head of information systems, Jayne Webb is head of resources, Paul Hemingway the director of finance and Paul Carpenter head of business development and integration.
It is believed another commercial appointment will be announced on Monday.
