France sees holiday bookings drop 3% – 20 Aug 2007

France saw a three per cent drop in holiday bookings for July and August compared with the same period last year.


The figures published by market research agency Protourisme show that the Alps and Pyrenees suffered the most, with both regions seeing a 6% drop in visitors compared to 2006.


The southern coastal regions and Paris reported an increase in visitors.


France is the world’s most popular destination, attracting 79 million visitors a year.
