Advantage confirms 2008 conference – 29 Aug 2007

Advantage has confirmed it will hold its own conference next year but said this will have no effect on its relationship with the Triton Travel Group.

The consortium of travel agents is a member of Triton but decided not to join a merger with co-members Global Travel Group and Worldchoice.

Advantage holds a conference every autumn for its business travel agents. Next year it will add sessions for its leisure travel agents.

But chief executive John McEwan said the consortium would still send members to the Triton conference, scheduled for April next year in either Palma, Marbella or Valencia.

Advantage has no plans to leave Triton, he added. “Since the majority of our members have a stake in both business and leisure travel, it makes sense to bring the two together in this format.

“However, our decision to hold an Advantage-only conference has no impact on our relationship with Triton, of which we remain an integral part.”
