Carlson Wagonlit Travel sales are up by a third

Business travel company Carlson Wagonlit Travel saw its UK sales increaseby a third in the first half of 2007, according to latest figures.


Overall, sales volume was up 45% to £5.5 billion, driven by new business from small and medium-sized companies and government institutions such as the US Department of Justice and HM Revenue and Customs in the UK. Online transactions achieved 55% growth in Europe.


In April, the company launched a flight status alert service which informscustomers of changes in their flight times.


CWT president Hubert Joly said: “The growth of CWT is the result of a strong world economy and increasing globalisation, the acquisition of travel management company Navigant and our strategy of delivering effective travel management to corporate clients and government institutions around the world.”
