Inghams Ski is to offer a weekly charter to Bergen next winter as part of a bid to become one of the leading ski tour operators to Norway.
The operator, which launched Norway for the current ski season and for walking holidays next year, confirmed plans for a dedicated charter on Sundays from Gatwick to Bergen for winter 2025-2026.
The first flight departs on December 21, 2025, with ski customers having the choice of resorts in Voss, Myrkdalen (pictured), or new for 2025-2026, Geilo.
Geilo offers skiing on both sides of the valley, with slopes for all levels, and winter activities include snowshoe trekking, husky sledding, Nordic skiing, sledging and fat bikes. It also boasts a frozen lake Ustedalsfjorden. Prices have yet to be released for winter ski packages to Geilo for 2025-2026.
Managing director John Mansell said: “Building on the success of Inghams offering walking holidays to Norway for 2025, I’m excited that we have committed to offering our customers the chance to ski too.
“Having already launched Norway last month for the current ski season and 2025-2026, I’m thrilled we have secured this weekly ski charter for next season.
“With huge demand for Norway coming from the UK, Inghams customers can now be a part of it, experiencing the wonders that Norway has to offer.’
Trevor De Villiers, chief executive, of Norway Home of Skiing, the international sales and marketing arm for the destination, welcomed the charter and said the destination was enjoying “enormous success” from the UK as a result of being value for money and offering ‘guaranteed snow’.
He said: “This will bring guaranteed charter passengers each week into the resorts of Voss, Mykdalen and Geilo, who will share the charter aircraft. I believe this is the first time we have a dedicated ski charter to Bergen Flesland, so this is a historic moment for ski tourism into Norway.
“The Inghams charter is simply brilliant news for all of us in Norwegian ski business and we look forward to a long and commercially rewarding future together.”
