Spanish budget carrier Vueling is adding two new destinations to its schedule from Heathrow.
Daily flights will run to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela from March 30, in addition the the airline’s existing 26 weekly flights from Gatwick to both destinations combined.
The addition of new routes to the two destinations in northern Spain increases the airline’s capacity from the UK by 16%.
The British Airways sister carrier under the IAG umbrella described the expansion as “reinforcing its position as a key airline connecting the UK with Spain”.
Chief network and strategy officer Jordi La Pla said: “We know Brits love a getaway to Spain, so we’re excited to give them even more options to travel to two of Spain’s most exciting cities – Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela.
“These additions not only reinforce our commitment to offering more affordable and convenient travel options, but also highlight our dedication to enhancing connectivity between the UK and Spain.”
