Transfer booking provider Resorthoppa goes into administration

Resorthoppa, the airport transfer booking provider, went into administration on Monday with a new company, Hoppa, stating it is “the new face of Resorthoppa”.

The company in administration, Resorthoppa, is the parent company of Resorthoppa (UK) which emerged in November from a three-year corporate voluntary arrangement (CVA) administration overseen by a court.

Resorthoppa (UK) repaid £3.5 million in accumulated debt in a series of instalments over the three years, including £3.28 million to settle the claims of almost 300 creditors.

Its parent Resorthoppa, until recently wholly owned by WWTE Ltd and its director Renaldo Scheepers, is now in the hands of joint administrators acting for KR8 Advisory after filing for administration in early March.

The replacement company Hoppa, owned by Hoppa Group, was registered at Companies House in February under the name of California-based director Yuanfa Deng.

The official filing lists no ‘persons with significant control’, but the owner appears to be Elife Tech Inc, registered in the US state of Delaware.

The Hoppa website identifies the company as “the new face of Resorthoppa”, stating: “Hoppa began life as a worldwide airport transfer provider in 2004. Back then we were known as ‘Resorthoppa’.”

Resorthoppa (UK)’s most recently available accounts, for the year to December 2023 show an accumulated loss of almost £5.4 million. The company made two payments to the CVA administrators since then of £155,877 and £1.15 million.

Parent Resorthoppa’s most recent accounts for the 12 months to December 2023 are for ‘a dormant company’ showing nominal income but listing investments in subsidiary Resorthoppa (UK) valued at £2.1 million.

The administrators of Resorthoppa have been approached for comment.
